International Team pushes back on Friday

SONGDO IBD, INCHEON CITY, South Korea – Sangmoon Bae’s addition to the International Team as a Captain’s Pick gave the South Korean fans a countryman to support. Bae gave the fans plenty to cheer for Friday, making a match-winning putt that played an important part in the International Team’s comeback.

Bae and Danny Lee, who lived in Incheon until moving to New Zealand at 10 years old, beat the United States’ Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker, 1 up, after Bae holed a 12-foot birdie putt at the par-5 18th hole. The International Team, which trailed 4-1 at the start of the day, won 3.5 of five points Friday and now trails the United States by just one point entering Saturday’s eight matches.
